About Me
My name is Chris Jones and I’m a qualified BACP counsellor (MBACP) based in Dorset and specializing in the treatment of “Deceptive sexuality” (often diagnosed as sex addiction or compulsive sexual behaviour disorder), and the traumatic impacts on the intimate partner.
I work with the DST model (deceptive sexual and trauma) which was developed by Dr. Omar Minwalla at the Institute for sexual health (https://minwallamodel.com/). The DST model provides the framework to identify and treat both the problematic sexual behaviours and the corresponding deceptive and/or abusive behaviours that continue to impact both the intimate partner and the relationship as a whole. It also provides a unique framework to identify, name, and work through the devastating traumatic impacts on the partner following the discovery of a secret sexual reality within the intimate relationship.

“Counsellor” or “Therapist” aren’t protected terms under UK law so anybody in the UK can use those titles without having done any formal training. It’s very important therefore to make sure that any therapist you consider working with is a registered member with an appropriate professional body. The BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) is the premier professional body in the UK and all of it’s members are required to work in accordance with their ethical framework and professional codes of practice.
