Introduction
As part of the ongoing development of From Harm to Healing, additional resources and opportunities are being made available to members who have participated in the programme.
These include access to Further Resources, the Mountain Work course, and Peer Connection, an optional space designed to help members connect with others for individual accountability relationships or peer-led groups.
These resources are intended to support the continuation and application of the work introduced through From Harm to Healing. They do not constitute an extension of your Stage 1 or Stage 2 group programme, and access to them does not create an ongoing therapeutic, coaching or supervisory relationship with Chris Jones Therapy.
Please read the following information carefully. Access to these additional resources is conditional upon your agreement to the terms below.
1. Further Resources and Mountain Work
Following completion of Stage 1, members may be provided with ongoing access to additional educational resources, including Further Resources and the Mountain Work course.
These materials are provided for psychoeducational purposes and to support your continued personal work. They may be used independently, alongside work with your own therapist or other professional, or as a framework for appropriate peer work.
Access to these resources does not constitute individual therapy, counselling, coaching or clinical supervision from Chris Jones Therapy. You remain responsible for deciding how you use the materials and, where appropriate, for seeking additional professional support.
Access to resources may be changed, updated or withdrawn by Chris Jones Therapy where reasonably necessary.
2. Peer Connection
Peer Connection is an optional facility provided to help From Harm to Healing members find and connect with others who may be interested in individual accountability relationships or peer-led groups.
Peer Connection is currently hosted through Slack, a third-party communication platform.
Chris Jones Therapy provides the space through which members can make initial contact. Any accountability relationship, peer-led group, private communication or other contact that develops between members is independently organised and managed by those involved.
Peer Connection and any relationships or groups formed through it are not facilitated, supervised or routinely monitored by Chris Jones Therapy and do not constitute therapy, counselling, coaching or another professional service provided by Chris Jones Therapy.
Participation in Peer Connection is entirely optional.
3. Purpose and Boundaries of Peer Work
Peer Connection is intended to support members in continuing to work on their own behaviours, thinking, emotions, integrity, treatment plans, recovery work, Attending and other personal processes.
It is not intended to provide a space for discussing, analysing, criticising or diagnosing partners, questioning whether a partner’s responses are reasonable, seeking validation regarding relationship conflicts, or discussing what a partner should or should not do.
A partner may sometimes form part of the context in which you are exploring your own behaviour or responses, but they should not become the subject of the peer work.
Members should remain aware that groups of people with similar experiences can unintentionally reinforce defensiveness, minimisation, partner-blaming or victim-blaming. Members are therefore expected to maintain the focus of peer work on their own behaviour, choices, responses and responsibilities.
4. Confidentiality Between Members
Members are expected to treat information shared by other members as confidential.
You must not copy, record, screenshot, distribute or disclose another member’s personal information or communications without their permission, except where disclosure is required by law or there is an immediate and serious concern for someone’s safety.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of information shared with you and for taking reasonable steps to ensure that peer conversations cannot be overheard or accessed by other people.
Because Peer Connection and peer-led relationships involve communication directly between members, Chris Jones Therapy cannot guarantee the confidentiality of information you choose to disclose to another member.
You are responsible for deciding what personal information you are comfortable sharing.
5. Privacy and Slack
Joining the From Harm to Healing Slack workspace is optional.
If you choose to join, your membership of the workspace and certain information associated with your Slack profile may be visible to other members. Information you choose to post or send through Slack will also be processed through Slack’s systems in accordance with its own privacy and data-processing arrangements.
You should only share information that you are comfortable disclosing within a peer environment and should avoid unnecessarily sharing identifying or sensitive information relating to third parties.
Further information about how Chris Jones Therapy handles personal information is contained within the Chris Jones Therapy Privacy Policy.
6. Personal Responsibility
Participation in Peer Connection, an accountability relationship or a peer-led group does not transfer responsibility for your recovery or behaviour to another member.
Each member remains responsible for:
- their own behaviour, choices and ongoing work;
- deciding what information they disclose;
- maintaining appropriate personal boundaries;
- respecting the privacy and confidentiality of others;
- deciding whether a particular peer relationship or group remains appropriate for them; and
- recognising when an issue would be more appropriately taken to a therapist or another suitably qualified professional.
Members are not expected to act as therapists, counsellors or professional advisers to one another.
If something arises that is beyond the appropriate scope of peer support, members should recognise the limits of the peer relationship and seek appropriate professional support where necessary.
7. Conduct and Appropriate Use
Members are expected to communicate respectfully and use Peer Connection consistently with its intended purpose.
Peer Connection must not be used to share sexually explicit material or unnecessarily detailed descriptions of sexual behaviour, threatening or abusive material, illegal content, or other material that is clearly inappropriate for the purpose of the space.
Members must not use information obtained through Peer Connection to harass, exploit or otherwise cause harm to another member.
Chris Jones Therapy reserves the right to restrict or remove access to Peer Connection or associated resources where there are reasonable concerns about inappropriate use, breaches of confidentiality, behaviour towards other members, or failure to observe these boundaries.
8. Independent Communication and Peer Groups
Once members have connected, they may choose to communicate or meet using Slack or other platforms and services of their choosing.
Any external platform, meeting arrangement, peer-led group or other communication established between members is independently chosen and managed by those members. Chris Jones Therapy does not control or take responsibility for the operation, security or privacy practices of platforms independently selected by members.
Members are responsible for agreeing between themselves how their accountability relationship or peer-led group will operate, including expectations concerning confidentiality, frequency of contact, structure and boundaries.
Guidance and resources provided by Chris Jones Therapy may be used to help structure this work, but this does not make an independently organised group a Chris Jones Therapy or From Harm to Healing facilitated group.
9. Agreement
By completing and submitting this form, you confirm that you have read and understood the information above and agree to the terms governing access to these additional resources and Peer Connection.
